The Final Conference of the SEMPRE project entitled "Make Empowerment Happen! Changing Mindsets for Better Social Services" has taken place on 27 and 28 November 2018 at the University of Latvia in Riga (Latvia).

For three years, the partners of the SEMPRE project have been working with different empowerment approaches in rural areas. The aim of the project is to identify ways how social service providers can empower the users of their services – who often belong to marginalised groups – to take part in service innovation processes. We are convinced that user-based service innovation can change the social service landscape in rural parts of the Baltic Sea Region for the better. Above all, it means that we have to change minds!
Empowerment addresses three dimensions: the individual, organisational and societal one. All three dimensions have been covered by the SEMPRE project and reflected in the project results which were presented at the final conference: a two-day event with many interesting speakers and interactive formats for discussion.
We would like to thank our speakers, panelists and moderators as well as guests for participating and making the conference a success!
